KVM Extenders are devices which allow users to work on a computer from a distance by extending the connection between a computer and keyboard, monitor and mouse.
The Fibre Optic DisplayPort 1.2 KVM Extender is an effective, reliable solution for extending high quality 4K DisplayPort signals over distances up to 300m with standard LC fibre cable. Support for DisplayPort 1.2 allows for the transmission of highly detailed 3840x2160@60Hz resolutions, perfect for eye catching digital signage or detailed content in medical setups.
This extender also supports lossless audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD to add powerful multi-channel sound to video content, providing an enhanced experience and sense of immersion for the viewer. USB KM connectivity via 3 USB HID ports allow for a keyboard and mouse at the receiver to control a DP equipped PC from a remote PC setup, which can be stored in a secure or controlled temperature environment, while seamlessly providing consistent video content from the display. The use of LC fibre between the transmitter and receiver provides a reliable, lower cost connection for much longer distances that what is possible over copper cabling, great for use in electronically _noisy_ environments such as factory shop floors or medical installations.
With the ability to extend signals up to 300m using the two included units, the transmitter can be easily connected to a variety of DisplayPort source devices such as PCs and laptops in a more convenient location, while the receiver can be placed in a suitable viewing area with a LFD (large format display), monitor or projector, ensuring there is no distraction from the display from bulky source devices. This versatility provides a suitable system for use in various scenarios such as educational presentations, CAD facilities or remote server administration.
The extenders built-in EDID function ensures maximum compatibility with the display or projector at the receiver, further enhancing this system focus on providing high quality 4K DP content over distances easily and with minimum hassle for the user.
Please note: Lindy_s 10GBase-LR/LW SFP+ LC Single Mode (25039) Fibre Modules can be used as an alternative to the Included Mini GBIC multi-mode LC modules, increasing the maximum range of the extender to 500m (1640.4ft).
The Lindy HDBaseT Presentation System is a powerful presentation system that allows three source devices to be connected to a remote display at up to 70 metres. This device uses three key components that create smart, autonomous presentation, education or collaboration spaces.
An HDBaseT multi-AV transmitter with support for HDMI, VGA with audio and USB inputs which can be surface mounted. An HDBaseT receiver with dual channel analogue audio extraction, microphone input, RS232 and USB control from an interactive board, designed for discreet installation. Finally, a separate wall mounted room control panel is included to quickly switch between input devices, adjust volumes and power on or off the display.
Both the multi-AV transmitter and control panels are both designed using PoH (power over HDBaseT) which provides power to both units alongside data using a standard Cat.6 network cable. This removes complexity from installations by allowing a single power supply to provide power to the entire system.
4K UHD video, multi-channel & digital audio formats including DTS-X & Dolby Atmos can be transmit 40m (131.23ft) over a single HDBaseT connection allowing the receiver can be conveniently placed in a wall or ceiling cavity depending on the locations of other connected devices such as a display, projector, sub-woofers and speakers. Distances up to 70m (229.66ft) are possible with 1080p video signals.
The inclusion of a relay port on the receiver allows room automation with devices such as a motorised projector screen or lighting to be configured to trigger once video devices are connected or disconnected.
Using reliable HDBaseT technology, single cable installation and PoH means this system is perfectly suited for education in a classroom or training room environment. Control over this system is managed through not only the wall plate, but also from a web GUI which is freely available on any device occupying the same network, including mobile devices. This can be used to switch or set a video input, display device connection status_, determine when the relay device is used and much more.

Please note: The Transmitter Wall Plate requires a double gang US Style backbox and the Control Wall Plate requires a single gang US style backbox, both with hole spacing of 8.33cm (3.281 )

Lindy AV components include HDMI and DisplayPort splitters, matrix switches, extenders, converters and scalers, EDID emulators, as well as wall plates and display mounts. The products are used in conference rooms, training centers, control rooms, broadcast studios, and digital signage installations.
What is the difference between a splitter, switch, and matrix?
A splitter distributes one signal to multiple displays. A switch selects between multiple sources for one display. A matrix connects multiple sources to multiple displays simultaneously.
What is an EDID emulator used for?
EDID emulators ensure that source devices receive display information even when the display is temporarily disconnected or switched off important for digital signage setups and matrix installations.
What range do AV extenders offer?
HDBaseT extenders over Cat.6/Cat.6A typically reach up to 100 meters; fiber-based AV extenders allow significantly greater distances [UNVERIFIED: specific range depends on model].
