AV extenders transmit video, audio and control signals over distances that a standard cable cannot cover. A transmitter at the source sends the signal via network cable, fibre optic cable or the IP network to a receiver at the display. This keeps computers, media players and conferencing systems centralised in the equipment room, while video and audio arrive exactly where they are needed: in the meeting room, the lecture theatre, the control room or at the digital signage display.
Connect transmitter and receiver point-to-point via a network cable. The range depends on the resolution: in 4K, up to 70m is typically possible, in Full HD even more.
Cat.6 AV Extenders
Bridge 300m and more, are immune to electromagnetic interference and are ideal for industrial environments, medical technology and large buildings.
Fibre Optic Extenders
Use the network with a switch. One source can be distributed to multiple receivers and the system can be expanded flexibly.
AV over IP Extenders
For video signals, there are HDMI extenders and DisplayPort extenders.
Is your computer missing a suitable video output? USB converters add HDMI or DisplayPort.
USB Converters HDMI & DP Extenders
Additionally transmit USB for keyboard and mouse alongside the video signal.
If you only need to connect USB devices over longer distances, USB extenders are the right solution. USB Extenders KVM Extenders
Transmit analogue stereo audio over Cat6 up to 500m, e.g. for PA systems.
Audio Extenders
Distribute one signal simultaneously to several remote displays.
Splitter Extenders
In addition to classic extender sets with separate transmitter and receiver, there are form factors for specific installation scenarios:
For wall mounting in flush-mounted boxes.
Wall Plate Extenders
Compact extenders that plug directly into the device.
Dongle Extenders
Check the range at your target resolution, not just the maximum range. Also important:
A standard that transmits uncompressed video, audio, control signals and, depending on the version, USB and Ethernet over a single network cable.
Active cables and active optical cables (AOC) are suited to fixed device-to-device runs. If you want to use existing network cabling, transmit a control signal as well or distribute the picture, an extender is the better choice.
