Lindy_s Active HDMI® 10.2G cables combine sleek, modern design with superior performance to provide high quality, reliable HDMI® transmission over long distances. Lindy's range of active cables come with an in-built chipset that amplifys the users signal to create a much longer HDMI® transmission that isnt possible with standard passive HDMI® cables, while also avoiding the need for additional expensive extenders or repeaters.
With the active chipset built discreetly into the stylishly designed headshell, these cables can easily be installed through conduit or tighter spaces. These premium cables also support the full 10.2G HDMI® bandwidth to display 4096x2160@30Hz resolutions.
Complying to the HDMI® 1.4 cable specification, these cables are ideal for use with a variety of source devices including set-top boxes, HDMI® media players or PCs when connected to modern displays or projectors. With support for a range of multi-channel audio formats, including Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio, these cables also ensure an impressive three-dimensional surround sound performance when connected to an amplifier's speaker system. CEC functionality also allows many of the source device's settings to be controlled via the display or projectors controls to provide a simple and effective control solution, while avoiding the necessity for several remote controls.
Lindy's active cables should be connected in accordance with the instructions for the optimum experience. The connector marked _display_ must be connected to the monitor or screen. Failure to connect the cable in the correct manner will result in no signal. Some projectors have recessed HDMI® sockets, please ensure they can accommodate the connector used on this cable.
Active HDMI® cables cannot be connected together or _daisy chained_.

The HDMI® interface was not designed to power external devices, but rather to supply sufficient power to complete the initial handshake, HDCP authentication and EDID Exchange. Whilst many source devices provide more than the specified 55mA to perform these functions, they do not always provide enough additional power to allow the operation of external HDMI® accessories such as Active HDMI® Cables, HDMI® to VGA Converters and HDMI® Fibre Optic Cables.
Connecting the HDMI® Power Injector Cable overcomes this issue and allows you to provide additional power to such devices, by positioning the cable inline between the HDMI® source and the HDMI® Accessory and then connecting the USB cable to a USB port on your HDMI® Source (PC with low power graphics card or Blu ray player etc) or to an external USB power supply (not included).

Cables and adapters are the foundation of every reliable connection between laptop, computer, monitor, network and peripherals. HDMI cables and adapters transmit picture and sound losslessly to displays and projectors. Ultra High Speed HDMI cables support 4K at 120Hz and 8K at 60Hz, and fibre optic HDMI cables are available for long distances.
DisplayPort cables and adapters connect graphics card and monitor with high bandwidth, HDR and multi-monitor operation via a single port. Adapters to HDMI, DVI or VGA integrate older displays.
USB and USB-C cables connect laptops, tablets, smartphones and peripherals. USB-C cables differ considerably: depending on the version, they transfer data at 480 Mbit/s up to 40 Gbit/s, video up to 8K and power via Power Delivery at 60W, 100W or 240W. For more than 60W, a cable with an e-marker is required.
Network cables, also known as Ethernet cables, consist of twisted wire pairs with RJ45 connectors. Cat5e achieves 1 Gbit/s, Cat6a with 500 MHz already reaches 10 Gbit/s over 100m and is the current standard for structured cabling. Cat8 is designed for short runs in the data centre.

No. The connector is identical, but data rate, video support and charging power differ considerably from cable to cable.
For new installations, at least Cat6a is recommended, as it enables 10 Gbit/s over the full length of 100m.
At 4K and above, passive HDMI and DisplayPort cables can reach their limits from around 3 to 5m, depending on the resolution. For longer distances, active cables or fibre optic cables ensure stable video transmission.
