KVM Extenders are devices which allow users to work on a computer from a distance by extending the connection between a computer and keyboard, monitor and mouse.
The Fibre Optic HDMI® 4K60 KVM Extender is an effective, reliable solution for extending high quality 4K HDMI® signals over distances up to 300m with standard LC OM3 fibre cable. Support for HDMI® 18G signals allows for the transmission of highly detailed 3840x2160@60Hz resolutions, perfect for detailed content in control rooms, medical setups or security installations.
This extender also supports lossless audio formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD to add powerful multi-channel sound to video content, providing an enhanced experience and sense of immersion for the viewer. USB KM connectivity via 2 USB HID ports allow for a keyboard and mouse at the receiver to control an HDMI equipped PC from a remote PC setup, which can be stored in a secure or controlled temperature environment, while seamlessly providing consistent video content from the source display. The use of LC fibre between the transmitter and receiver provides a reliable, lower cost connection for much longer distances that what is possible over copper cabling, great for use in electronically noisy environments such as factory shop floors or medical installations.
With the ability to extend signals up to 300m using the two included units, the transmitter can be easily connected to a variety of HDMI® source devices such as PCs and laptops in a more convenient location, while the receiver can be placed in a suitable viewing area with a LFD (large format display), monitor or projector, ensuring there is no distraction from the display from bulky source devices. This versatility provides a suitable system for use in various scenarios such as educational presentations, CAD facilities or remote server administration.
Featuring bi-directional IR ports at both sides of the setup, the source equipment can be seamlessly controlled from the display side, and the display can also be controlled from the HDMI® source device. RS-232 connections also allow for integration into pre-installed control systems. In addition, the power supply is connected via a screw type DC jack, providing a more secure and reliable connection, perfect for professional installations where accidental disconnections could create a major issue.
The extenders built-in EDID function ensures maximum compatibility with the display or projector at the receiver, further enhancing this system focus on providing high quality 4K HDMI® content over distances easily and with minimum hassle for the user.
Please note: Lindy_s 10GBase-LR/LW SFP+ LC Single Mode (25039) Fibre Modules can be used as an alternative to the included Mini GBIC multi-mode LC modules, increasing the maximum range of the extender to 1Km (3280.84ft). Maximum supported distance remain up to 300m with HDCP signals.
