A KVM switch allows an operator to conveniently control and manage multiple devices, such as PCs and servers, from a single keyboard, mouse and display console.
This advanced KVM Switch has been designed for use with PCs and Macs. It features DisplayPort video ports and a two port USB 2.0 hub for connecting and sharing peripherals. With audio support, you can also connect speakers or headsets.
The switch occupies only a single 1U space in a 19_ rack and supports screen resolutions of up to 4K Ultra HD 60Hz, great for graphical content in gaming setups, video editing or controlling multiple workstations. It provides 2 simple switching modes, via keyboard hotkeys and front panel buttons.
A local console can be connected to the 2 USB and DP ports on the rear panel while the built-in 2 port USB 2.0 hub saves money on requiring additional devices by sharing peripherals between the connected computers. The unique switching arrangement allows the USB hub to be switched independently of the PCs for uninterrupted printing, scanning or external drive access. Options can be accessed only via keyboard hotkeys.
LED indicators show the status of the selected channel.
Please Note: connection cables are not included. DisplayPort, USB A to B, and 3.5mm audio cables are required for each connected computer. The maximum supported distance for USB, using standard cables, is 5m. For distances over 5m, use a Lindy USB Active Extension Cable. MST hubs are not supported.
The Lindy 4K30 HDMI® & USB over IP system is a powerful solution for creating a wide range of bespoke, distributed AV and KVM installations. The system comprises Encoder (No. 38396) and Decoder (No. 38397) modules and a separate Controller module (No. 38395). All modules are sold separately so you can build and scale according to your requirements.
One HDMI® source, such as a PC or Media Player, connects to a single Encoder module; one HDMI® display connects to a single Decoder module (No. 38397). Multiple Encoders and Decoders can be combined for a variety of multicast distribution options. The controller module is used to manage the full installation and direct the multiple sources to the multiple displays giving maximum creative freedom and customisation options. All the modules can be connected to a 1G managed switch to create a network of connected devices.
Additionally, the system supports USB KVM control access for each connected module, so connected PCs at the Encoder end can be controlled by KVM consoles at the remote Decoder end.
As well as single display options, combining multiple Decoders and their connected displays allows the user to create impressive video wall and matrix solutions.
This extender system provides JPEG2000 main stream and H.264/H265 codec secondary stream which supports API commands to achieve flexible configurations including from third party control apps.
The system requires a layer3 1G managed network switch supporting IGMP snooping and 8K Jumbo frame. With the PoE function it is also possible to power the unit without a PSU.

The Extender features Power over Cable, which requires a single power supply only to be connected either to the transmitter unit or to the receiver unit. The Transmitter has 2 Type C switchable host ports, one of them supports Power Delivery up to 100W connecting an additional USB power supply from a dedicated Type C power port. Both units have local device ports, 1 Type A and 2 Type A each unit, while the Receiver features 2 HDMI® ports supporting Ultra HD resolutions up to 4K60.
Status LEDs help the user to check power, active host, link between Transmitter and Receiver and if data transfer is running while additional RS232 and FSYNC GPIO pass-though ports allow sending bi-directional commands also for industrial cameras. Switching between the 2 hosts can be done via front panel button on the Transmitter or can be set as automatic, it's also possible to control the extender via API commands.
