The Lindy USB 2.0 Smart Card Reader makes it easy to manage a variety of smart cards from a Windows or Mac computer with a USB Type A interface. It supports relevant industry standards like ISO 7816 or PC/SC 1.0/2.0 and multiple smart card protocols. Possible applications can include e-banking, e-payment, digital signature, authentication security, e-government etc.
The Lindy USB 2.0 Smart Card Reader is powered by the USB Bus and easy to install and use. Simply install the smart card driver from the Lindy website, then connect the reader to the PC and plug in the smart card.
The Lindy USB 3.2 Gen 2 Active Extension Pro is a high-performance active cable that enables access to USB devices over long distances. It supports data transfer rates of up to 10Gbps and is perfect for transferring large amounts of data quickly and reliably.
This 5m USB 3.2 active extension can be cascaded up to a maximum distance of 15m.
It can be used if a USB device is to be connected at a greater distance, e.g. a permanently installed webcam in a meeting room, a multi-function hub with various interfaces or if repeated access to a device is difficult. The Lindy USB 3.2 Active Extension is compatible with computers with USB 3.2 Type C/Thunderbolt ports, making it the perfect extension tool for newer notebooks, Macbooks and PCs with USB Type C ports.
The Lindy USB 3.2 Active Extension features a DC socket for connecting a power supply unit for the power supply. A USB power adapter cable is included in the scope of delivery, a USB power supply unit must be purchased separately.
These active extension cables with active, industrial-grade technology and sockets with hook mechanism ensure high and reliable signal quality even in demanding environments.
*Please note that USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alternate Mode (Video) are not supported.

When is a USB extender necessary?
Standard USB cables are limited to a few meters depending on the generation. USB extenders extend signal transmission over Cat.6, fiber optic, or Ethernet to significantly greater distances.
What is a USB sharing switch?
A USB sharing switch allows multiple computers to share the same USB peripherals for example a printer or storage device without constantly swapping cables.
What is the difference between USB 3.2 and USB 4?
USB 4 is based on the Thunderbolt 3 specification and supports data rates up to 40 Gbit/s as well as native DisplayPort transmission. USB 3.2 Gen 2 reaches 10 Gbit/s, Gen 2x2 up to 20 Gbit/s.
